Amici Authentic Italian Restaurant

On Thursday, the whole department went Holland Village to have lunch + birthday celebration for 2 of my colleagues (Boon Hwee & Kim Hun). Although the restaurant is small, but the owner fully utilised the space & created a very nice ambient.

There are plenty of delicious food in the menu, it took us 30min to decide. The set lunch come with either soup or salad + coffee or tea, worth for the money!

Italian bread - served warm with olive oil & balsamic vinegar
Crunchy on the outside, soft & chewy inside.
I chose salad as starter
Fresh green with delicious dressing.
Parmesan chicken served with lemon oil
Smell good & taste good...
Spaghetti Vongole - Pasta with clams, garlic & herbs in white wine sauce
One of the chef recomended, signature dish.
Spagetti Italian Beef Meatballs
The sauce is just nice, not too sweet or sour,
but the meatballs a bit dry.
Linguine Squid Ink - Pasta with squid & cod fish in black ink sauce
Sorry, I'm not too keen with the color...
Refreshing Coffee
* I spent about $13 (including tax) for my salad, spagetti with meatballs & coffee.
Free Tiramisu for the birthday baby, I had a bite!
Too bad, we don't have time to try the desert. If not, I'll surely go for the creme-brulee.
Verdict: The tiramisu & coffee are really good. They brought back my memories when I was in Capri Island, Italy. These 2 can compare to the one I had there.

Yummy! Yummy!

Is already 1 week after I back from K.L. I miss my family... I'm so happy to meet my parents & brothers. Now,
  1. father is in China for a short break
  2. mum is busy with his house chores at home

  4. younger brother is working in K.L. & lots of computer games
  5. I'm praying hard in Singapore for my students to do well in the coming exam.

Last Friday, dad & Bernard picked me up at Corus Hotel in the evening, bad traffic...
Then, whole family went to Selayang to have dinner with grandma, uncles, aunts & counsins.

1st stop, choosing fresh seafood. My dad & 3rd uncle (2 bald men behind the picture...hehe!) busy with the vast selection, while, I busy snapping pictures with 2 of my cousins sisters. I'm very close to Rachel(left) & Rebecca(right) because we stay near to each other & meet up quite often.
There is a very special bond between Rachel & I (just like with Li Jun) as my mum baby-sit her from 3 years old till about 10 years old. I still remeber how we played together, went piona class togther, watched Walt Disney cartoon together etc etc. She also past me the chicken pox virus when I was in secondary 3.
Okay, no more nonsense. Let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy!
The delicious steam fish, very smooth flesh.
He looks fierce! My favourite brinjals.
But, doesn't taste perfect this round. Taufu.
Not a big fan, okaylar.. More green to kill our guilt.
Clean up our sytem after all the sinful dishes.
Fatty pork with yam. I like the yam.
*sorry my muslim friends
Chris, would you like some?1st time trying the chinese style cooking of eels.
Different form the unagi I always have in Japanese restaurant.
Fried fatty pork.
Actually very delicious, crispy & no fatty taste.
*sorry again my muslim friends
Chris, how about this?
Finally, the main 'actors & actresses'
CRAB!!
As predicted, I got swollen lips & itchy throat straight after eating the crab.
I'm alright after a few cups of warm chinses tea.
My brother's birthday cake.
Greedy dad asked for 1 whole peach to decorate the cake.
Obviously, too heavy for the tiramisu. The 'belated' birthday boy, Bernard
& my elder brother, Brendon on the left.Isn't he cute?
He looks like a 3D-animator who lack of sleep, right?
Present from Brendon.
Teddy dog for me; t-shirt & cap for hubby.
Thanks bro!

Brother, Happy Birthday!!

21 years of your life has past you through,
You knew your freedom comes and you shout yahoo!

Today marks the day you officially turn 22.
You ponder if there is anything you cannot do,
Or is there anything else that remains a taboo,
You wonder perhaps it’s time to get a tattoo,
Maybe it’s good time to think what you wish to pursue,
Even as you eat the cake you just slice into.

In the movie Horton who hears a Who,
We are here, we are here! says the people of Who,
They are there, they are there! shouts the baby kangaroo.

Indeed this is the day to be joyful,
To the tune of...

happy birthday to you..you are born in the zoo,
May the year ahead be as exciting and wonderful too!

My Wonderful Brothers & Lovely Parents

Welcome home brother!!

Elder brother, Brendon came home on Tuesday from Macau for 10 days. Time flies, he has been working in Venetian Hotel for almost a year now. I can still remember vividly we hugged each other so tight & long when we bid farewell in the airport. I, in fact, brother too can't control the tears.

Into my memory lanes...

When I went UK for working holiday, I tried very hard to hold my tears in the airport. I nearly burst when Brendon called me followed by Bernard's sms. Knowing that I'm a very emotional person, who will easily sherd tears, I just said 'bye' before I entered the departure hall. I let it all out in hubby's arms after we past the gate. Did I miss home during the 18months away in the cold & foreign country? Nope, not really, because hubby was there to supportme all the time.

Dad sms me while he & mum waited eagerly in KLIA. How's the ambient when parents & son meet? Wish I was there too. I guess they must have endless conversation although we communicate quite often via phone, email & video msn. I also believe that mum will cook him lots & lots of mouth watering dishes. Hopefully he has sufficient time for all the family members & friends.

Malaysia, Here I come....

I will be going home today after class, taking 1.30pm bas. Darling will not be joining me as planned cause...(long story, lazy to elaborate here) Can't wait to meet my family, especially Brendon, wonder whether he got anything for me...hehehe!! Opps..I didn't get any birthday present for Bernard, I think he prefer S$...hahaha!!

We will be having family dinner tonight, I requested crab. It will be definetely a good one, enjoying delicious food with my wonderful family:)

Is crying the best way?

the more you WISH for,
the more DISSAPOINTED you will be
Now, as I'm writing, I'm very sad, I have no mood to do anything.
Just feel like crying....
