Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Mozart (27 January 1756 -- 5 December 1791) was a prolific and influential composer of the classical era. He was born in Salzburg, Austria. As a child, his father toured him and his sister through Europe as child prodigies. He composed his first piece at five, and by twelve he had composed in every single popular genre of the time. At the end of his life, he was working on a commissioned requiem, Dies Irae, which he felt foretold his death. It ws completed by his student Sussmayer. He died in the morning of 5th December. 2008 ---- good year ahead

I'm so looking forward to the year of Rat -- new country, new job, new students, new friends etc etc.

NEW YEAR
I kicked start the year by watching a spectacular 8minutes fireworks display in Marina Bay with hubby and his secondary schoolmates Jimmy, Kian Meng & Jonine. Recall back, we have been celebrating our new years in different countries since year 2005. Lucky us!!

The next day we join the same gang of friends for a roller blading session in East Coast Park. Hubby isn't good in this sport while this was my first time. Both of us had a few fall, but no injuries as we are well equipped. Actually need not to worry as both Kian Meng & Jonine are doctors. At first we were a bit 'malu' as we were pracitising with lots of kids in the begginers' ring. However, I really enjoyed it & wish to do it again:)

ORIENTATION WEEK
After a long break (since early December 2007) & also the extreme sport, I was so tired but excited about the school new term. All the school in Singapore had orientation week on 3rd till 5th January. Luckily I have a bunch of great Peer Support Leaders to help me out during the whole events. As the class mentor i.e. class/form teacher, I had to be with my class in majority of the programs. The most interesting one will be the Amazing Race in NUS. Students (about 20 of them) & I ran from station to station in NUS to solved the puzzles & tasks. Although we got 2nd last, but we have built a strong bond between us.
starting point
students trying to build a school logo using erasers (domino style)
students are trained to be coorperative in fetching the bucket of water
ready to go back after a long lunch
finally, we are back!!!
HOME SWEET HOME
I went home (Malaysia) last last weekend (2 week ago), although a bit rush but I did have some good time. Dad picked us up from the Corus hotel at about 11.45pm, while mum welcome us with durian & 'tong yun'. We catched up a bit before bed.

The next day, we went Kepong to pay Huey Shin a visit as she was admitted to the hospital on boxing due to dengue. Thank God that she has recover although she has to countdown in hospital. Then, we went to PJ to have lunch with Ong & to collect my molecule set from him. At night, we have dinner with parents-in-law. Yummy satay!!

Sunday morning we rushed to settle our credit card bills then consulted Dr Vijendran as I got plenty of spots & rashes on both leg -- allergy to dog!!
**much better now, 'she' is not allow in my room anymore.

We took 3.30pm bas back to Singapore. It was a tiring weekend but worth it!!

SCHOOL START
Classes started since 6th January. Although there are some problem with the timetable (most school will face this problem on the beginning of the year), both students & teachers are adapting well. My secondary 3 students are behaving well in class & of course there are some little rascals around who spice up the lessons. The students here are really brilliant in studies & doing well in co-curriculum activities.
**NUS High School is an elite school which specialize in mathematics & science
We will be getting busier not only with our daily teaching but also preparation of various events/activities that lining up.
p.s. it took me 2 weeks to complete this post...
