PETALING JAYA: Student Lim Sze Jian, believed to be a victim of a snatch theft, never regained consciousness until his death on Sunday. He had been in a coma for almost two years.
His father Lim Guan Seng, 52, said that after the incident in September 2006, Sze Jian never regained consciousness or opened his eyes.
“Sometimes he moved a hand or leg when we talked to him,” he said.
Guan Seng said Sze Jian, who was allowed to be taken home after the incident, was admitted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur a month ago for high fever.
He said Sze Jian was allowed to go home again a few days later but was re-admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit a week before his death after he fell sick again.
Sze Jian, 20, died at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, at 2.30am. His father claimed his body at 3.30pm the same day.
“I hope the police will get the culprits who did this to my son,” Guan Seng said.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Ku Chin Wah said that he would personally look into the case which police had classified as snatch theft. He said based on findings so far, there was an eyewitness.
The first-year accounting student at the University Tunku Abdul Rahman was found unconscious at the Masjid Jamek LRT station on Sept 18, 2006, reportedly attacked while on his way home to Wangsa Maju. He was believed to have been robbed as he had contacted his father saying that his cell phone had been snatched.
For those of you who has been following my blog, this is a sad story of my ex-student. I was so shock when my Phavz (ex-colleague) broke the news to me via msn. Now, I'm still shock & don't believe what I have read. As you know, my parents visit him quite often & I when to his house during my last trip back to Kuala Lumpur. His parents told us that he was much better at that time....
Think from the brighter side, he is no longer suffering.
Hopefully the culprit will get the punishment!!

Kelvin smsed me to ask me to tell you this mournful news, but i tak sampai hati.... A really pretty sad story when i read the details in newspaper...
>.< I actually knew much earlier and was shocked too when Damson told me the news ....
Hopefully the culprit will get their punishment ...
I really don't know what to say. My dad just came back from China on Sunday night. I'm still not sure whether my parents know about this news. I guess they (especially my mum) will be more upset as they visit him often & update me all his progress. I felt the joy & happiness whenever my mum told me about his ability to do something....
As I said, maybe this is not as bad as we thought, at least he is in peace & no more pain....
I learn a lesson from this incident: cherish every moments we have.
So, Jess & Kelvin, do keep in touch with me. If possible, I want to keep in touch with all my ex-students
What!!
Is that the student you mention during our chemistry lecture??
Haizz...My senior...
Thousands of condolence.
